JOB TITLE:_ _Credentialing Assistant
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CREDENTIALING
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High School graduate required, college graduate preferred with study emphasis in business. Executive administrative skills and office computer skills required.
EXPERIENCE: Must have working knowledge of computers, printers, and software. Additional equipment used - multiple-line phone, facsimile machine, scanner, copier, and calculator. Professional verbal and written communication skills are required, utilizing proper rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred with extremely high percentage of accuracy in data entry. Must have the ability to work effectively under deadlines and independently manage multiple projects, demonstrating good time management and organizational skills. Must be trustworthy in controlling confidential information and consistently use good judgment.
PHYSICAL: Normal professional office environment. Close eye work. Hearing within normal range. Use of all office machines. Frequent sitting, reaching, walking, standing and climbing. Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. Pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds. Occasional delivery of items.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Credentialing Assistant will work independently to process provider credentialing files and keep them current in regards to all appropriate verifications. Will collect, organize, and file documentation in a timely manner for appointment and reappointment applications. Will correspond with providers, office managers, and insurance plan representatives demonstrating professional, grammatically correct written and verbal communication skills. Will be responsible for accurate payer enrollment and follow up. Responsible for a well-organized credentialing process. Enter and maintain information in a credentialing system and database demonstrating an extremely high level of accuracy. Ensure compliance with all credentialing policies and standards. Also performs other duties as assigned.
