Job Title: Finance Manager – Agile Finance Business Partner iOps (Customer Operations)

Location: Preferred in London or Rotterdam, but other European locations are an option – local conditions apply


JOB PURPOSE

To remain competitive as Unilever we need to make our operations future fit, and we need to be able to respond to Unilever changing from operating in a linear model to an agile model. We are doing this through the Future-Fit Operations programme which UniOps is driving on behalf of Unilever as a major key enabler for Fuel for Growth.

Future- Fit Operations is about being experience led and putting the needs of our consumers, customers, employees and suppliers at the heart of what we do, removing functional silos that stop us working together on the outcome the business needs, maximising the impact of technology and creating the capacity the business needs to focus on growth.

Future-Fit Operations focuses on five aspects of Unilever’s operations – all connected and interdependent – and all supported by Information & Analytics - One of the journeys is our “Integrated Operations/ iOps” journey. The re-wiring of our processes, technology and organisation across this critical set of activities gives us an unprecedented opportunity to eliminate complexity and reduce duplication with the primary objective of improving customer service and unlocking capacity to drive growth.

The UniOps - Global Business Transformation – finance team is looking for a strong finance manager that sets up the ways of working with European Market iOps Teams and BU/BG leadership teams in order to manage this transition from the functional service lines and who helps ensuring that BCs are delivered OTIF. After the transformation journey is completed this role should transition into business as usual business partnering position, focusing on performance management within Customer Operations teams.

The role is reporting into the Head of iOps Performance Management and does have one direct report (WL1).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive value delivery via iOps Program performance management in co-operation with Markets and Central iOps Teams for iOps & legacy projects
  • Partner budget efficiencies identification and savings delivery for one of the biggest global clusters – EU markets
  • Co-Create the future reporting and performance framework for Customer Operations after the business transformation phase is complete
  • Monthly forecast submission of iOps Transformation Supply Chain projects (investment, savings, run costs)
  • Support value cration by iOps Products globally (Pivot to Product) via business partnerting Cenral Teams and co-creation of performance management freamwork
  • Partnering with iOps IT Finance BP for overall performance management
  • Partnering with UniOps Finance team on end-to-end cost transparency
  • Analyses support within overall Central iOps Finance Team
  • Alignment on reporting requirements with markets, leadership teams and overall UniOps finance teams
  • Continuation and improvement of reporting processes

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • High degree of proficiency with Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint
  • Excellent inter-personal, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions
  • Digitally savvy / capable
  • Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner

EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Finance Business Partnering experience, and other Finance process experience eg.: in Finance Excellence Team (FET), Financial Planing & Analysis (FP&A)
  • The role requires a high level of independence and proactiveness as well as excellent influencing skills to successfully execute and own the improvement roadmap
  • Ability to work collaboratively, create relationships across the organization and team commitment
  • Managing a large and complex set of stakeholders
  • Pro-activeness towards continuous improvement with a “can do” mentality
  • Business acumen and financial understanding – solid understanding of accounting and finance principles. Qualified accountant or equivalent
  • High integrity, structure, and drive
  • Resilience (ability to cope with time pressure and challenges)

Location

In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston and Graze in Richmond. Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
