  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Education
      • Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program and successful completion of the National Certification examination through the National Commission of Physician Assistants. Licensed by the State Board of Medicine in Arkansas. ACLS certification required.
      • Or
      • A Master’s degree in nursing is required. Licensed by Arkansas State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist. Certification by national certifying body with prescriptive privileges. ACLS certification required.
    • Experience
      • Clinic experience preferred.
    • Physical

      • Normal hospital/clinic environment. Exposure to biological hazards. Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. May be exposed to airborne and infectious materials. Required to stand for long periods of time in surgery, walk, sit, push and pull, use fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Reach with hands and arms. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Provides patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of the supervising physician, including assisting in surgical cases, obtaining medical and personal histories, participates in hospital rounds, dictates discharge summaries, assess patient in the clinic, orders appropriate lab and e-ray, provides counseling and education to patient and families. Attendance is an essential function of this job. This position is requires ability to utilize independent judgment and be on call with the physician approximately ten days a month.
