Position Overview

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and service-oriented Kitchen Assistant to support the daily operations of our company cantina. This role will assist the Cook with food preparation, cleaning, serving, dishwashing, organizing supplies, and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area for our employees. - Jonesboro area only.

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with daily meal preparation for company employees.

• Wash, cut, peel, measure, and organize ingredients for cooking.

• Help prepare breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other staff meals as required.

• Support serving meals to employees in a polite and professional manner.

• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, utensils, trays, and food preparation areas.

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and serving equipment.

• Keep the cantina, dining area, kitchen, and storage areas clean and organized.

• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food items and kitchen supplies.

• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and company kitchen procedures at all times.

• Help monitor stock levels and inform the Cook or supervisor about shortages.

• Dispose of waste properly and support food waste reduction.

• Assist with setting up and cleaning after internal meetings, events, or company meals.

• Follow instructions from the Cook, supervisor, and management team.

• Support general kitchen and cantina duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen, cafeteria, canteen, restaurant, hotel, catering company, or similar environment is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety is a plus.

• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.

• Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and detail-oriented.

• Friendly and respectful attitude when serving employees.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle repetitive tasks.

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical work, including lifting kitchen supplies when required.

• Willingness to learn kitchen and cantina operations.

• Flexibility to work different shifts, early mornings, or overtime when needed.

• Food Handler Certification or similar food safety training is preferred but not required.
