Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable, experienced, and service-oriented Cook to prepare daily meals for our employees in the company cantina. This role is responsible for preparing fresh, hygienic, and well-balanced meals, maintaining a clean kitchen environment, and ensuring that employees are served in a timely and professional manner.
The ideal candidate has experience in cafeteria, restaurant, hotel, catering, or institutional kitchen operations and takes pride in preparing quality food for a team environment. - Jonesboro area only.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare daily meals for company employees according to planned menus.
• Cook breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other meals as required by the company.
• Ensure meals are fresh, properly cooked, well-presented, and served on time.
• Support menu planning with simple, balanced, and cost-effective meal options.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, seasoning, and organizing food items.
• Maintain proper food portioning and avoid unnecessary food waste.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and company kitchen standards at all times.
• Keep the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, storage areas, and serving area clean and organized.
• Monitor stock levels of food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Store food items correctly according to safety and quality requirements.
• Serve employees in a polite, professional, and friendly manner when needed.
• Ensure proper handling of hot food, cold food, leftovers, and waste disposal.
• Report equipment issues, safety risks, or quality concerns to management.
• Support special internal events, meetings, or company meals when required.
Qualifications
• Previous experience as a cook in a cafeteria, canteen, restaurant, hotel, catering company, or similar kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of basic cooking methods, food preparation, hygiene, and kitchen safety.
• Ability to prepare meals for groups of employees in a timely and organized way.
• Good understanding of portion control and food waste management.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, and supervisor instructions.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, quality, and presentation.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical kitchen tasks.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, early mornings, or overtime when needed.
• Food Handler Certification or similar food safety training is preferred.
