Overview

We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager at our Jonesboro location. The Procurement Manager oversees and coordinates the activities of the Purchasing Department following established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the daily workflow of the Purchasing department, including supervising the Purchasing Agents, Senior Buyers, and Purchasing Clerks
  • Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for raw materials, products, and acceptable substitutions
  • Track and report on key metrics to reduce overall cost and improve on-time delivery
  • Purchase raw materials and products within budget and schedule based on incoming orders and build dates
  • Work with R&D on new product development, identifying, evaluating, and sourcing new suppliers and new purchased components
  • Monitor raw material stocking levels to support current and future demand
  • Work with A/P and Accounting to update the Purchasing processes (purchase orders, MRP, etc.) to be compatible with an ERP system
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control to ensure that the company has a sufficient supply of materials it needs to operate. Balance quality with cost to ensure that the best purchases are made and limit how much money is tied up in supplies
  • Stay up to date on overall market conditions and price trends that affect what is purchased
  • Negotiate best vendor terms, pricing, and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • 5 years of related management experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, clients, employees and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • APICS certification preferred

Education

A bachelor’s degree, plus 3 years of related experience and/or training is required.
