We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Engineer at our Jonesboro Technology Center. As a Research and Development Engineer specializing in Conveyor Systems, you will be a key contributor to the innovation and improvement of conveyor technologies within our company. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and a focus on advancing the efficiency and reliability of conveyor systems. As part of our R&D team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of material handling solutions.
Responsibilities
- Research and develop innovative conveyor system technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for advancements in conveyor design and functionality
- Lead the design and development of new conveyor systems or enhancements to existing systems
- Conduct feasibility studies and prototype testing to validate design concepts and performance
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in conveyor systems and material handling
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies, such as automation, sensors, and data analytics, into conveyor systems
- Work on projects aimed at optimizing conveyor system layouts and processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to implement improvements in existing conveyor systems
- Manage R&D projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and/or external partners to align projects with business goals
- Adhere to Hytrol Product Development process to ensure the successful release of products developed
- Develop testing protocols to validate the performance and reliability of conveyor systems
- Analyze test results and iterate on designs to address any identified issues
- Create comprehensive documentation for R&D projects, including design specifications, test plans, and reports
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
Qualifications

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in project documentation and reporting
- Familiarity with basic project management tools
- Familiarity with CAD software
- Strong foundation in mathematics and ability to apply those skills
- Experience leading and guiding members within a team to the successful completion of a common goal
- Basic understanding of project management principles
Education
Technical degree/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience. 5 – 8 years of experience in research and development projects with exposure to conveyors or material handling systems.
