We are currently seeking an Industrial Engineer at our Jonesboro location. This position is responsible for implementing industrial and manufacturing engineering work with LEAN manufacturing principles. The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer provides daily support to the production floor to ensure safety, quality, and delivery. They create standard work processes, identify and improve waste systematically, lead efforts with production, safety, and quality, and play a key role in determining capital needs, leading projects, and developing cost reductions.
Responsibilities
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods that are applied and activities that take place in manufacturing and services
- Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
- Develop design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure that products meet quality standards
- Utilize principles of mathematics, science, and engineering to streamline processes and identify opportunities to prevent waste and inefficiency in production
- Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to formulate/support innovation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
- Develop and design robust manufacturing concepts to simplify/improve manufacturing processes to ensure best practice, performing structural and thermal analyses of components and assemblies, building prototypes, evaluating performance, identifying issues, and making improvements
- Create and maintain required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insight and direction
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- Experience using robot-based simulation software
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Advanced mathematical skills
Education
Technical degree required in such disciplines as Computer Engineering, CPA, etc. 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
