Job Summary/Description:
KAIT-TV is looking for the next morning anchor for the #1 rated "Good Morning Region 8." The ideal candidate will be a passionate journalist, aggressive about covering local news. You should be an energetic “morning person” who confidently delivers the news viewers need to start their days. We need an anchor who is involved in the day-to-day operations of the newsroom, including developing and turning enterprise and investigative content.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Anchoring at least 2.5 hours of news a day
· Collaborating and assisting producers with the treatment and writing of new content
· Researching, gathering, shooting, writing, and editing news stories for on-air and online
· Completing regular franchises or special investigative reports
· Writing in a clear, concise, conversational manner
· Reporting “live” on the scene during breaking news or weather
· Developing and maintaining sources of information
· Demonstrating sound news judgment
· Participating in story selection meetings
· Posting and regularly updating stories and other material on the web and social media
· Interacting with viewers on social media, including regular presence on Facebook Live
· Meeting tight deadlines and working well under pressure
· Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
· At least two years of experience in a commercial newsroom
· Bachelor's in journalism or related field preferred
· Knowledge of ENPS and Edius is a plus
· Clean driving record
