POSITION DEMANDS:

· Maintain good attendance and a positive work attitude.

· Have knowledge and understanding of all safety guidelines and specific safety hazards associated with position.

· Have knowledge of and use all safety equipment required for position.

· Need basic understanding of materials used in process and how they are to be handled.

· Must be able to operate all front-end equipment, coiler, tape measure, tape gun, utility knife, skill saw, coil cart and overhead crane.

· Ability to read measuring instruments, including tape measure.

· Must be able to read and adjust machine parameters using computer program and controls.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work in a harmonious manner and interact in a cooperative way with supervisors and co-workers.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Must wear or use all required personal protective equipment.

· Read, understand and adhere to rules and guidelines stated in the Employee Handbook.

· Must have understanding of start up and shut down operations.

· Ensure product quality standards are maintained for all products and conform to Quality system procedures and documentation.

· Perform required recordkeeping and documentation.

· Assist with all training of all new and temporary employees assigned to the work area.

· Monitor operating condition of equipment and machinery at front-end of the line.

· Communicate any equipment failure or other issues to supervisor and write work orders, as necessary.

· Maintain clean work area throughout the work-day and follow all safety procedures and rules.

· Must be able to work various shifts, as determined by business and production requirements.

· Perform other work as directed by Supervisor

· Prep Work

  1. Conduct safety check on equipment and machines.

  2. Report unsafe equipment to supervisor and maintenance.

  3. Communicate with lead inspector on daily assignments.

  4. Set up skids for material to be ran.

  5. Cut and measure core tubes for up coming job.

  6. Make sure coil cart is functioning and battery is charged.

  7. Each front utility should have a tape gun.

  8. Use skill saw to cut boards needed for skids and overseas products.

· Start Up

  1. Roll film and gel coated film at the end of production line.

  2. If instructed, assist the shear operator on start up.

  3. Notify inspector for missed defects at start up.

  4. Assist inspectors on inserting light table or section of rollers.

· Ownership while line is running

  1. Report unsafe working conditions and equipment failures to supervisor.

  2. Count and record number of panels on skids.

  3. Operate coil cart to remove coils.

  4. Utilize ability to coil all coils tightly and accurate as possible.

  5. Notify lead person for potential loose or egg shaped coils.

  6. Mark all skids with yellow tabs to determine amount and skid change.

  7. Remove excessive tack film tails at splices.

· Job changes

  1. Remove rejected panels from conveyors.

  2. Place rejected panels on a B grade skid.

  3. Notify packers of coils and skids that need to be removed from inspection area.

  4. Assist A and B inspectors according to Lead inspector command.

a) Safety glasses with side shields

b) Steel toed safety shoes

c) Protective gloves as needed

f) Organic Vapor Respirator and appropriate over clothing when responding to chemical spills
