Arkansas State University - Newport invites applications for the position of Instructor of High Voltage Lineman Technology. This is a twelve-month position on the Newport campus.
The successful candidate will teach High Voltage Lineman Technology courses as appropriate to the two-year college level including classroom/laboratory instruction and maintaining current with equipment certifications. The right candidate will be willing to work cooperatively with other entities of the university in a learning-centered environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements for this position include an Associate Degree or equivalent credentialing. Experience and professional certification may be substituted for the degree requirement. Proficiency involving first aid and experience and knowledge of electrical circuits, pole climbing, and safety procedures are required. A pole climbing evaluation will be performed. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Preference will be given to anyone who is a certified journeyman lineman with previous rural electric cooperative experience. Previous recruitment, administration, and college teaching experience are also preferred.
Salary & Benefits
The annual salary for this position is $55,000 -$65,000.
