The position described is responsible for meeting or exceeding customer support objectives as well assisting the assigned Account Manager in his/her effort to meet or exceed sales objectives for any assigned territory, market segment, and product or service category. Successful financial performance in this position shall be attained by actively promoting and selling PSG’s goods and services via the utilization of professional sales techniques, superior product/service knowledge, and the active utilization of all approved resources. Successful performance in the support role of this position shall lie in effectively assisting the assigned Account Manager in his/her effort to meet sales goals and objectives.

Major Activities

  1. Maintain daily an accurate and up to date understanding of the assigned Account Manager’s travel plans and business activities.

  2. Process, confirm, monitor, and manage customer orders as they proceed through the PSG system. Communicate with all direct and indirectly assigned customers to the extent necessary to meet or exceed company objectives.

  3. Maintain profitable existing customer relationships via the effective use of direct contact, indirect contact, paper and/or electric/electronic resources, as well as personal initiative.

  4. Develop and foster a positive, collaborative working relationship with the assigned Account Manager.

  5. Schedule sufficient time to effectively understand the business model, objectives, and anticipated product needs of all direct assigned customers.

  6. Quote sales prices and credit terms based on the needs, goals, and objectives of our company.

  7. Shall present to existing customers marketing materials, advertising programs, new products and value-added services. If necessary, handle and process customer projections, invoices, warranties and/or quality control issues.

  8. Collect, disseminate, and store internally, on behalf of the company, competitor information, market news, new product information and related data as necessary to meet the anticipated needs and/or instructions of the company.

  9. Sell all products and process all orders with attention to profit, volume, and value-added elements.

  10. Convey price quotations to customers and prepare internal reports as required.

  11. Be aware of customer payment performance.

  12. Attend and participate as required in staff meetings, sales meetings, training events, and product seminars.

  13. Create customer sales forecasts and project pipelines as requested by the company.

Time Management

  1. Be present and available for work and work-related activities in a manner consistent with company policy, the AGCC employee handbook, and best practices. Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime as required.

  2. Utilize available technology in such as manner as to maximize job effectiveness.

Self-Organization

  1. Plan the use of time in such a manner as to achieve stated company goals and objectives.

  2. Keep accurate records.

  3. Plan and prepare before each customer interaction.

  4. Properly maintain and use company equipment and resources in a manner consistent with company goals and objectives.

  5. Dress in a professional manner that reflects positively on the company and on you as a professional.

Administrative

  1. Properly fill out and maintain customer profiles, company files, order forms, and documents as required.

  2. If required, submit the following in a timely manner: daily planner/call reports, sales plans for existing customers, forecasts, and customer activity reports.

  3. Submit new customer credit applications on behalf of the assigned Account Manager.

  4. Will be proficient in the use of computer programs and other systems to the extent necessary to effectively conduct business.

  5. Will analyze and monitor data to the extent necessary to effectively manage customer accounts.

Interaction within the company

  1. Comply with all company policies and directives.

  2. Operate within stated timelines.

  3. Develop positive relationships as well as communicate and coordinate effectively with all fellow employees within Packaging Support Group and parent company Arkansas Glass Container Corporation.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must:

  1. Be able to accomplish or possess the intellectual and physical capabilities necessary to be trained to accomplish all items listed in this job description.

  2. Education - High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma as a minimum.

  3. Communicate accurately and effectively in all standard business communication mediums using the English language.

  4. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. These skills will include the ability to calculate percentages, interest, proportions, discounts, circumference and volume using readily available office equipment.

  5. Have the ability to solve reasonably anticipated general business problems including those containing more than one variable. Abilities will also include those necessary to carry out written, oral, and/or pictorial instructions.

Work Environment

The work environment for the position listed herein shall include but not be limited to the following:

  1. General office workspace(s)

  2. Factory floor space that may include working near manual and automatic devices/equipment used in the manufacture, processing, packaging, storage, transportation, and conveyance of a myriad of products.

  3. Warehouse or other storage spaces that may be air-conditioned and/or heated, cooled (refrigerated locker), freezing (freezer locker), or ambient temperature.

  4. Ground and air transport equipment.

  5. Travel as required.
